Movies in the Park

Summer afternoons are for the pool.scones with jam and cream, yum.

      I had never been to a movie in the park till this summer. Sitting on blankets under the moon, we snuggled together. Even though the air was chilly, no one noticed. Our eyes watched the big screen and our hands were in our popcorn boxes. There is something about watching a movie outdoors with a hundred or so other people that just felt, I don’t know, summery.(cheesy much?)  The laughter of kids surrounded us and personally I could not think of a better way to spend a Thursday evening with the family.

Mosley

Mosley (or Mo), the White boxer.

        Mosley lives next door. He is the coolest thing next to ice cream. This summer, his family had me dog-sit for them while they were on vacation. I wish they had stayed away just a little longer. He loved his walks, roughhousing and the couch. Oh and don’t even get me started on his face. Undeniable. He’s mastered the art of the smolder. This painting is for his owners.

The Ocean and Sophie

     This is Sophie. She is the kind of person that will ask you a deep personal question before asking your name. She has a light, pretty laugh that will make you smile even if you didn’t hear what the joke was. If you have a dog of any kind she will probably ask to see it and then if she can take it home.  Her dad has a darling little red and white VW bug and it is her dream to drive it when she turns 16. We have had long conversations/arguments about which Pride and Prejudice movie is the best, the 6 hour long BBC version (her favorite) or the two hour version with Keira Knightley in it (my favorite). She has taught me how to dance and how to play ping-pong. Or at least she tried to teach me ping-pong. I still hit that dang thing like a base ball and usually it hits someone.

I hope we keep quoting movies, dancing in weird places and talking are heads off together till we're old ladies.
